Ebara Supports the Safe Water Supply of Shanghai Lingang Water Plant!

In January 2023, the Lingang Water Plant, Shanghai’s first newly planned and newly built “safe, high-quality, innovative, intelligent, energy-efficient, green and ecological” water purification plant, was officially connected to the grid and put into use, marking the formal formation of a new water supply pattern in the Lingang New Area. The water safety and quality of the people have been greatly improved.

The Lingang Water Plant has an overall design capacity of 400,000 m³/d and is located in Nicheng Town in the northern Lingang Equipment Manufacturing Zone, Shanghai. The first phase has a design capacity of 200,000 m³/d. The raw water is introduced from the high-quality water source of Qingcaosha, and the full-process treatment process of “pretreatment + conventional treatment + deep treatment” is adopted to meet the residents’ living needs for high-quality and good-tasting drinking water.

Lingang Water Plant adopts a comprehensive green and energy-saving design. In terms of layout, it integrates the design concept of “sponge city”, purifies rainwater and collects it into green space for consumption, realizing the recycling of rainwater; in terms of architectural design, it adopts a square shape and natural ventilation and natural lighting design, and implements a physical energy-saving strategy; in terms of hydraulic design, it adopts a full gravity self-flow energy-saving design, uses gravity flow through the water treatment process, and simplifies the configuration of the water plant; in terms of equipment application, it adopts high-efficiency and low-energy consumption equipment such as high-efficiency hydraulic transportation, mixing and aeration devices.

Ebara focuses on solving urban water supply problems and actively engages in the construction of green and intelligent water plants to help cities’ water supply operate efficiently. It works tirelessly to improve the safety and stability of urban water supply systems, allowing green ecology to gradually integrate into every corner of the city.

The pump house is an indispensable part of the water supply system of the water plant, and the performance of the water pump has a direct impact on the energy consumption and system efficiency of the water plant. In this project, the supply equipment is installed in the secondary pump house to pressurize water to the municipal pipe network and operate continuously for 24 hours.

Our company supplied a total of 6 sets of Ebara CW horizontal double-suction split case pumps. Water enters from both sides of the impeller between the water inlet of the pump. The casing is split horizontally and is divided into a pump cover and a pump body. When inspecting the inside of the pump, you only need to open the pump cover without disassembling the water inlet and outlet pipes. The impeller is made of stainless steel integral casting with a smooth flow channel. The shaft seal type adopts a single-end mechanical seal, which is stable and reliable.

During the implementation of the project, our project team made every effort to ensure the successful completion of all process links including the selection, design, production, installation and commissioning of the water pump equipment. Since the equipment was put into operation, it has performed well and made positive contributions to improving the water safety and quality of local people.
